USN Capt. George P. McGinnis Memorial Award
This award was named to honor Captain George P. McGinnis, who, while still in his teens, published a design for a radio control system that was used for target drone aircraft in WWII. A graduate of the Naval War College who did post graduate work at Harvard and MIT, Captain McGinnis served as a cryptologic officer throughout his distinguished 31 year naval career. This award recognizes service and dedication to the advancement and preservation of U.S. Naval Cryptology, as nominated by the US Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association (NCVA).
