Youth Education Program Donations

As a member of Radio Club of America, you are dedicated to preserving the history of radio communications while looking to the future in wireless. Now is the time for you to do something profound that will impact children across the United States by supporting an RCA program that brings fun and energy to technology education.

RCA launched an experiment several years ago, the Youth Education Program. It started small, reaching only 4 schools in 4 states in its first year.
In 2011, this program impacted the lives of hundreds of children between the ages of 7and 18 in 10 states.   We now are lending assistance to 22 schools and 2 museums. We are making a difference!
This remarkable and unique initiative:
·         Sparks interest and enthusiasm for math and the sciences in grade school and middle school students by introducing them to amateur radio
·         Expands their possibilities by exposing them to technology careers
·         Creates a fun and enjoyable environment for learning
·         Has given out 33 RCA Young Achiever awards to encourage and support students under 18 who demonstrate excellence and creativity in wireless communications
All of the work for this program is carried out by a small group of volunteers, led by Carole Perry, who created and taught the “Introduction to Amateur Radio” program in New York City schools for over 25 years.  Other dedicated RCA members assist with presentations and donations of equipment.
Your end-of-the-year cash donation to the Radio Club of America Youth Education Program will make a big difference in the number of schools we reach and the quality of the equipment and training materials we can present. The Youth Program relies upon curriculum packages, which cost around $25.00 per child. We also will use these funds to purchase radio equipment.
The future of the wireless industry depends on the generosity and foresight of people like you who know the value of education. Your donation of $25 will fund classroom materials, and if you donate $100, you can reach an entire class of children. Or consider this. A donation of $10,000 will set up a endowment fund in your own name, the principal amount to remain in perpetuity, with all earnings to the Youth Education Program.
Your donation to the Radio Club of America is fully tax deductible on your 2011 return, if dated by midnight on December 31, 2011. So, click here to donate online, or send your check today to the Radio Club of America, PO Box 621074, Littleton, CO 80162-1074 and make sure that you mark it for “Youth Education Program”.  If you have questions about the program, please feel free to email Carole Perry at wb2mg@ix.netcom.com.
We are working on the future? Won’t you join us?
Best regards,
Carole Perry WB2MGP, Chairperson Youth Activities
Elaine Walsh, Fund Raising Chair
